National Evaluation and Foresight Agency (ANEP)

The National Evaluation and Foresight Agency (ANEP) is part of the Directorate General for Research and Management of the National R&D + Innovation Plan, within the State Department of Research of the Ministry of Science and Innovation.

ANEP has the following objectives:

• To evaluate the scientific-technical quality of proposals seeking public financing from both the Department and other public and private organisations.
• To improve the capacity of the public Science and Technology system.
• To help ensure that resource allocation decisions for R&D + Innovation are made on the basis of criteria of excellence and scientific-technical quality.

The functions assigned to ANEP are the following:

• Scientific/technical evaluation (objective and independent) of the units, teams and research proposals for participating in programmes and projects of the National Plan as well as monitoring the results. Furthermore, the evaluation of whatever scientific/technical proposals are assigned by the Directorate General of Research and Management of the National R&D + Innovation Plan.
