The MICINN supports the BiodivERsA 2 Call for Proposals and encourages its research community to apply for funding for collaborative research in the European Research Area. This initiative accomplishes the main objectives described in the Programa Nacional de Internacionalización de la I+D and in the National Programs within the Plan Nacional de I+D+I 2008-2011. The MICINN will support research institutions located in Spain and will be responsible for taking the final decision regarding the awarding of funds to the Spanish partners, taking fully into account the transnational evaluation of the cooperative project and the financial resources available.

Eligibility and national funding modalities

The entities eligible for MICINN funding are:

• Universities and other public research institutions and centros tecnológicos.
• Private non-profit research institutions.

The following categories of expenses can be financed within this programme:

• Personnel costs for temporary contracts (fellowships are not eligible)
• Current costs necessary to carry out the proposed activities (small equipment, consumables, travel and others). Indirect costs (overheads) are not eligible.

The total costs of the Spanish part should not exceed 180.000 € per project. The MICINN will avoid double funding and will not finance projects or parts of projects that have been funded through other calls.

Depending on the type of applying research institution and according to national regulations, MICINN will fund up to 100% of the marginal costs of the project or up 50% on the basis of actual costs.

Specific national regulations and guidelines

Once the transnational evaluation procedure has been completed and the researchers involved have been notified, the Spanish applicants from public institutions that are offered funding will be invited to formally apply to the call of the Programa Nacional de Internacionalización de la I+D that will be implemented by the Dirección General de Cooperación Internacional-MICINN.

Anuncio de la convocatoria

Anuncio de la convocatoria de ayudas para proyectos de investigación en “Ecosystem Services” de la ERA-NET BiodivERsA.

La convocatoria estará abierta hasta el 17 de febrero de 2011 (plazo para el prerregistro hasta 5 de enero de 2011) y podrán presentar sus proyectos los consorcios integrados por (para el caso de España) grupos de investigación de universidades y de otros organismos públicos de investigación, así como entidades privadas de investigación sin ánimo de lucro. Los consorcios deberán representar al menos a tres de los países participantes en la convocatoria de BiodivERsA.
